Tomorrow I will be one month out of surgery. It's time to weigh, measure and list what good is happening and what is not. I am a bit nervous about this, mostly because even though my measurements will certainly be smaller than pre-op, and my weight is down as well, I don't think it will sink in completely for quite some time. I'm over a year out of having gastric bypass surgery (May 9, 2007) and I've lost about 115 pounds. I'm very happy with the changes in my body and whatnot, however I feel more depressed than before surgery. I'm not sure how exactly to explain it ( Read more... )

I'm currently taking cymbalta and neuronton.  my appetite has been increasing in the last week or two.  at first i thought it was just my pouch stretching a bit more, since i'm going on 11 months post surgery.  
but, wow, i can't seem to control myself without really struggling with an empty feeling, and a hunger feeling....

Sometimes I feel like my surgery will never happen

i feel like my surgeons office said "go away for 6 months and we'll reevaluate at that time"

It's just frustrating
I feel like more should be getting done in this 6 months, like I dunno, can't they do a preauthorization or something? Jeesus

I used to joke about weight loss like this:  I need a policeman and a gun
in order to lose some weight.  They all laughed and I got a little happy
thinking I was so clever, even if I was the most unacceptable person I had
ever known.  And now, I know I'm not alone thinking I'm unacceptable.

They took my clothes.  The nurse handed me a big plastic drawstring
bag, and told me to change into a gown,  take EVERYTHING off.  We had a little terse conversation
about what everything meant.  Turns out, she allowed me the dignity of keeping
my underwear on.  Then she made off with the bag of clothes.  I looked at my
